After Federal Judges ruled that a number of Michigan Legislative Districts violated the Voting Rights Act and Equal Protection Clause of the United States Constitution, the Michigan Independent Citizens Redistricting Commission has begun work to redraw several of the state's house districts. On Tuesday, January 30, the Institute for Public Policy and Social Research at Michigan State University (IPPSR) will host a Lunch and Learn exploring this issue and discuss courses the commission can take to ensure it does not happen again.
