Welcoming Michigan - Refugee and Immigrant Resettlement in Michigan

As a welcoming state, Michigan has accepted many waves of immigrants and refugees. The 2020 census showed growth in Michigan’s population largely due to this demographic. One key to successful resettlement is state and local leaders who work together with nonprofit agencies to integrate newly arriving families and individuals. What policies govern resettlement and family reintegration in Michigan? What are the successes and challenges and why is it important for Michigan to continue to welcome such populations? IPPSR’s upcoming Public Policy Forum outlines these efforts around the state. The May 10 Public Policy Forum is in person and features a light lunch.
