In this first-of-2021 State of the State Podcast, a discussion that centers around the state of our economy and the state of our democracy. The events of January 6 feature broadly in this Institute for Public Policy and Social Research (IPPSR) production. Featured are IPPSR Director Matt Grossmann, Associate Director Arnold Weinfeld and Economics Professor Charles Ballard, who directs IPPSR's State of the State Survey, one of the only surveys tracking statewide public opinion on current affairs. January's featured guest is Jakana Thomas, MSU associate professor of political science, and a recognized authority on international terrorism.
