IPPSR Podcasters forecast tax cuts ahead, and the Institute's next Public Policy forum puts taxes on the table -- pension tax repeal, an income tax cut and a potential increase in the state's Earned Income Tax Credit (EITC) on Tuesday, March 22, 2022.
With forecasts of higher COVID relief-revenue in the short-run, proposals are rising in the state capital to pay for an income tax cut for individuals and corporations at a cost of $2 billion, an expansion of the state's EITC for working families of low-to-moderate income and a potential repeal of taxes on public pensions, withdrawals from Individual Retirement Accounts (IRAS) and some 401(k) investments.
