IPPSR's first Public Policy Forum of 2021 examines questions regarding distribution of the COVID-19 vaccine throughout Michigan’s communities large and small.

The nation’s first cases of COVID-19, were first reported in January 2020. Cases quickly spread to Michigan. Now, new COVID-19 vaccines shipments are on their way across the country, and Michigan is seeing its first doses.

Michigan State University’s Institute for Public Policy and Social Research featured r a panel of those involved in COVID-19 vaccine distribution to discuss state and local efforts.

“We see this IPPSR Forum as a vital opportunity to share information about the pandemic and efforts to stem its spread through distribution of COIVID-19 vaccines,” said Matt Grossmann, IPPSR Director and MSU political scientist.

IPPSR Public Policy Forum speakers include three specialists at the center of the COIVID-19 vaccine rollout and distribution:

  • Linda S. Vail, MPA, Health Officer, Ingham County Health Department
  • Ruthanne Sudderth, Senior Vice President, Public Affairs and Communications, Michigan Health & Hospital Association
  • Debra Furr-Holden, Ph.D., C.S. Mott Endowed Professor of Public Health, Associate Dean for Public Health Integration and Director of the Flint Center for Health Equity Solutions, Co-Director, Healthy Flint Research Coordinating Center, Michigan State University.
