Public Policy Issues & Education

The Institute for Public Policy and Social Research (IPPSR) extends scholarly expertise to Michigan's policymaking community while cultivating a diverse network of public policy professionals including scholars and practitioners.

Original research is conducted by MSU faculty through IPPSR to address Michigan's most pressing issues. Current policies are analyzed and potential solutions are developed by multi-disciplinary teams of experts. Findings on topic ranging from capital financing of Michigan's schools to land-use issues in central cities are disseminated to inform the legislative debate.
