LANSING, Mich. Intergovernmental cooperation is gaining the attention of local and state government leaders as a way to reduce service costs. While some view this as a way to keep quality community services, others fear a division of control that could weaken those services.
How effective is a cooperative effort in reducing costs while maintaining the quality of services?
This forum will provide a quick study of this topic presented by local government association leaders who are working through these issues with community leaders. Discussion will focus on policy recommendations for state lawmakers who are the first line of support for local governments.
